The Conti-Edger is secured by a bracket on the conditioner of
the ice-resurfacing machine and is pneumatically driven out
in an angled position in front of the left skid of the conditioner.
Even in this position the Edger`s blade is still not in use.
At the outer side of the Conti-Edger is fixed on a Sliding-Shoe.
When this Sliding-Shoe is pressed against the dasher boards
by the drive of the ice-resurfacer the Conti-Edger`s blade is
pushed into the operating position with its pre-set working
depth. When the contact with the boards is released, the function
of the blade is automatically terminated.
But the Conti-Edger can also be lowered by means of a switch
directly from the drivers seat.
The built up snow and ice is shaved and conveyed directly under
the conditioner through its angled position. As this takes place,
a water dispenser attached to the Edger leaves a smooth watered
surface behind.
The Conti-Edger pneumatically adjusts itself to the boards,
extending to a maximum range of 9.85 in. (250mm). Therefore
it is able of cutting at corner boards as well as at straight
boards and evens out inexactness while driving.
It is easy to use and requires no adjustment of driving speed.
At regular use the Conti-Edger is set to a low depth.
In combination with the resurfacer`s blade it offers useful
possibilities to cut down strongly grown ice surfaces.
