Generally, the cutting depth of the Conti-Edger`s blade is set to the same level as of the ice-resurfacer. By that you will achieve an even sheet of ice up to the board edges, successfully avoiding ice-growth.

Of course, the Conti-Edger can easily be adjusted to operate with or without board contact.

This enables avoidance of ice growth in areas where no board contact is possible, for example along the gate opening for the ice-resurfacing-machine.

Furthermore this function, in combination with the resurfacer`s blade, offers useful possibilities to cut down strongly grown ice-surfaces, e.g. at open-air-rinks.
